 MESSAGE FROM THE ORGANIZING CHAIRMAN
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I am sure that many of us in the medical field will agree that we in Asia,
together with the rest of the world are united in sharing one common
elusive challenge, which is the effective management of hypertension.
This task will no doubt involve various disciplines from Physicians to
Paramedics, Administrators and Pharmaceutical companies. It will also
involve various international platforms where people from various
disciplines can meet.
The Asia Pacific Congress of Hypertension is one platform where all these disciplines converge. This
meeting will bring together researchers and clinicians in the field of hypertension and include
programmes focussed on tackling issues relevant to the Asia Pacific region.
Therefore it is with this background in mind, that I as President of the Malaysian Society of
Hypertension, on behalf of the organizing committee, would like to extend a cordial invitation to all of
you to attend our 7th Asia Pacific Congress of Hypertension Meeting due to be held in Kuala Lumpur
on the 19th – 22nd February 2009. Additionally, the organizing committee has also undertaken extra
effort to organize a pre-congress on a topic of much interest.
The meeting venue will be at a new, exciting and well equipped convention centre-the Kuala Lumpur
Convention Centre (KLCC), overlooking the magnificent Petronas Twin Towers – one of the most
beautiful and the tallest Twin Towers in the world. It is also within walking distance from international
luxury hotels and excellent shopping malls. Malaysia has always been a popular tourist destination
and it is our sincere hope that participants will be able to combine an educational programme with an
enjoyable vacation.
I invite you to submit your abstracts early, and make travel plans to be part of what is certain to be a
lively scientific and memorable experience. We all look forward to greeting you in Kuala Lumpur, in
February of 2009.
DATO’ DR. AZHARI ROSMAN
Chairman, Organizing Committee
